GMC K3500 Pickup Models

Select The Year Of Your Vehicle Below

The original GMC K3500 Pickup came out in the 1950s, but the ones you can get parts for these days are mostly from between 1984 and 2000 -- namely, from just after the middle of the truck's third generation to when it went out of production.

The "K" in K3500 indicates a four-wheel drivetrain (4WD); the "3500" indicates its one-ton size. Early on, base, High Sierra, and Sierra Classic trims were available; later, you could get trims from Sierra and Sierra SL to Sierra SLE, Sierra SLX, and Sierra SLT. Six-cylinder and V8 gas and eight-cylinder diesel engines were available. Features over the years included a four-door crew cab configuration, a leaf-spring rear suspension, and dual rear wheels.

In 1987, GMC temporarily renamed the line with an R prefix; this distinguished the pickup from its fourth generation, which was on sale at the same time. It also became the GMC Sierra Classic briefly, until discontinuation.
